When BeSound Founder and CEO, Bailey, received a possibly life-changing diagnosis in her early-20s, she was shocked to discover that current medical imaging methods were insufficient to provide a definitive answer to the question of whether or not she had cancer. Her experience inspired her to pivot from her PhD studies in quantum physics to focus on improving women’s healthcare. Using her background in scientific research, and propelled by the experiences of other young women who had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer, she began to explore the possibility of finding better cancer detection technologies.

A physicist and engineer by training, John built his career developing cutting-edge AI for signal processing and mission critical and safety software for real-world applications in aerospace and defense. His versatility in AI has given him the kind of technical expertise that is in high-demand across the business world. But instead of working in industry, John chose to bring his AI-algorithmic brilliance and expertise to BeSound. Working with Bailey, with whom he studied optical physics in college, he’s proud to be creating a better way for women to prevent and treat life-threatening disease.
